At Flynn Christian Fellowship Home, we are committed to providing a haven of hope and recovery for men battling addiction. Established in 1969 on the foundation of faith, our home has served the Wilson, North Carolina community for over five decades, offering support and guidance to those seeking a new path in life.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a safe, clean, and supportive environment where men can recover from alcohol and drug addiction. We believe in the transformative power of community and fellowship, where each resident is encouraged to regain his self-respect, develop personal responsibility, and become a positive contributor to society.
What We Do
Flynn Home provides a structured yet nurturing environment that includes:
- 12-Step Meetings: Residents are required to attend Alcoholics Anonymous and/or Narcotics Anonymous meetings, which are integral to their recovery journey.
- Counseling and Support: Substance abuse counseling is available to help residents address the root causes of their addiction and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
- Vocational Training: We offer vocational training to prepare residents for re-entering the workforce, equipping them with the skills they need to build a stable future.
- Spiritual Growth: While we are non-denominational, we encourage residents to attend the church of their choice, fostering spiritual growth as part of their recovery process.
Our Approach
Our approach is based on faith, trust, and community support. We believe that recovery is a deeply personal journey, and we tailor our programs to meet the individual needs of each resident. The length of stay varies, with some men staying as little as a month and others for a year or more, depending on their unique circumstances.
Our Values
- Respect and Dignity: We treat every resident with respect, honoring their dignity and worth as individuals.
- Personal Responsibility: Residents are expected to take an active role in their recovery by seeking employment and contributing to the cost of their room and board.
- Zero Tolerance: We maintain a strict policy against the use of alcohol and drugs. Any violation results in immediate dismissal to protect the integrity of our home.
Our Community
The majority of our residents come from Wilson and the surrounding areas, though we also welcome men from other regions who seek a fresh start away from the influences that may have contributed to their addiction. We are proud to be a part of the Wilson community and to contribute to its well-being by helping men rebuild their lives.
Our Leadership
Flynn Christian Fellowship Home is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors, consisting of up to 12 members who are committed to the success of our mission. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of our community and the contributions of generous donors to keep our doors open. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to supporting our residents and maintaining our facilities.
